Below is a pressing training session from California State University, Bakersfield, from the 2014 season.
We had the following goals for the session:
1. How do we define effective pressure? Distances and body shape.
2. Nobody works in isolation. Help is arriving quickly – how can you use it to help?
3. Once you win possession – use it! Don’t give it straight back to the opposition. The first pass is the most important one.
4. Recovery position as a team is always to get compact – as soon as possible!
