Below is a recent session at University of Cincinnati aimed at encouraging players to play forward and attack with speed. The session incorporates attacking with width, combination play, and overloading areas in the aim of creating goalscoring opportunities. We also added game like situations with the functional work in order to give players problems to solve in the attempt to break down a set defense.
It is really important that the tempo of the session is high and the players practice playing at speed but also playing with a purpose. There is a cognitive function also included with problem solving in the functional exercise and also the important element of creating space for teammates during the tactical game.
